VENICE
The city of Venice is certainly one of the most picturesque, evocative and beautiful cities in Italy and in the world.
It rises four kilometers from the mainland, in the vast Adriatic lagoon that bears its name.
The water present in every corner of the city, the canals, the buildings that seemed to come out of the sea, the vaporetti, the motorboats, the boats and the famous gondolas make Venice truly unique. The city of art is an incomparable cultural, artistic and tourist center and is also a university seat.
Its origins date back to the era of the barbarian invasions, when some peoples of Venetian cities took refuge in 451 AD on the islands of the lagoon.
Two other things make the city of Venice unique in the world: the famous Carnival of Venice which dates back to the 10th century and which is considered the most important Italian carnival event of the year and the Historical Regatta, parade of boats - including the splendid gondolas - which have made the history of the city. From Bassano del Grappa it is about 105 km, 1 hour and 15 minutes by car.
