VERONA
The historic center of Verona is undoubtedly a place full of characteristic places that are worth visiting at any time of the year. The ideal starting point can only be the central one Piazza Bra . Here it is possible to admire the ancient walls of the Arena di Verona , each year home to one of the most famous opera festivals in Europe, and the Portoni della Bra.
The other many monuments of the city can be reached with a pleasant walk that will leave you speechless at every step. Maybe starting from Corso Porta Nuova, the shopping street of Verona, which connects Piazza Bra to Piazza Erbe .
Castelvecchio, for example, the most imposing monument of the city or the Roman Theater of Verona , where theatrical performances are still held today during the summer, are both located a few tens of minutes walk from the Arena.
However, a visit to Verona cannot be said to be complete without having a look at the Giulietta's home and its famous balcony, made famous all over the world for the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet.
In the vicinity of Verona there are other very interesting places to visit. The characteristic village of Valeggio sul Mincio, known throughout Northern Italy for its Nodo d'Amore tortellini, Lessinia, an area rich in gastronomic delicacies, and the Madonna della Corona sanctuary, a church clinging to the Monte Baldo which seems to be suspended between earth and sky. From Bassano del Grappa it is about 100 km, 1 hour by car.
